Weekly News Update

OMP Pre-Alpha Version 0.0.16

Version 0.0.16 of OMP has been released! Download the source here or install it via the official AUR package if you use Arch Linux!

0.0.16 comes with more improvements for larger playlists! Cutting, deleting, and dragging have been improved!

Changes in 0.0.16 :

Added
– Improvements for larger playlists with cutting, deleting, and dragging operations.

Changed
– General code clean-up.

Fixed
– Deleting no longer stops working occasionally.

Final Thoughts About 0.0.16 :
These continued changes involved with improving larger playlists will be worth it in the end once they’re all done. Only 4 more weeks until I move onto other features and improvements needed before OMP 0.1 can be released!

OMP Pre-Alpha Version 0.0.17: Next Update

For the next two weeks I will be working one of two more larger playlists improvements. Opening of file improvements for larger playlists will be implemented. Also, opening by folder recursively will be added. Most importantly, I will be adding some basic metadata editing for non cue sheet tracks. You will soon be able to edit a track’s metadata! It will be pretty limited, but still very useful compared to nothing at all. I know I will be using it a lot! Below is a quick look at how it works.

Step 1: Right Click On Row Cell That Can Be Edited

Step 2: Click Edit Button To Edit Metadata Tag

Step 3: Press Enter After Editing Tag

That’s how simple metadata editing will be for now! A bit more metadata editing features will be added before work on 0.3 begins, but 0.3 will be where I primarily focus on adding advanced metadata capabilities. Sorry I didn’t have this read yet like I said I would, but I ran out of time. I’m sorry that happens so often. I’m a pretty busy guy. I do my best to keep to my schedule. I am confident I will release 0.1 by the end of the year!

OMP Alpha Version 0.1: The First Alpha

I’m continuing to work hard towards releasing OMP’s first alpha build! I’m FINALLY sure how long I will take to release it! OMP 0.1 will be released DECEMBER 30RD, 2018. Even more exciting is OFFICIAL UBUNTU SUPPORT is coming two weeks before the 0.1 release!  That’s DECEMBER 23RD, 2018! You can see the full feature timeline on the Project Page for OMP Version 0.1. You can see when exactly each feature will be released there. There’s a To Do section, an In Progress section, a Finished and Awaiting Commit section, and a Complete section! There’s also a progress bar to help visualize how close I’m slowly getting to OMP’s first alpha!

Final Thoughts

Thank you to my patrons who saw this post early! I hope you’re excited for 0.1 and the first metadata editing features in OMP in two weeks!

Weekly News Update

The early source release of OMP 0.0.16 is being delayed a week because I’m still working out some bugs in the changes I made to dragging to improve it with larger playlists. Everything else is finished, which includes improvements to pasting, deleting, and cutting. I will also be releasing some very basic tag editing with 0.0.16 for a few metadata fields. You will soon be able to edit track metadata with OMP for single track files! I use OMP daily and I’ve been really annoyed by my inability to edit artist and track names for a while. I’m really excited for 0.0.16!

Weekly News Update

OMP Pre-Alpha Version 0.0.15

Version 0.0.15 of OMP has been released! Download the source here or install it via the official AUR package if you use Arch Linux!

0.0.15 comes with only a few minor improvements. I’m still working on finishing changes I want to make to improve larger playlists. I have mapped out three more version cycles to finish these changes. You can see those on Project Page for OMP Version 0.1 . That means 6 more weeks of working on these changes and then I will continue working on what is needed to release OMP’s first alpha version! I also had some serious issues with the Patreon plugin I was not aware of. The login was not working. That has now been fixed by switching to a better host. Let me know how it works now!

Changes in 0.0.15 :

Added

  • Added tooltips to various parts missing them.
    |
    Parts now with tooltips:

    • copy progress bar
    • normal progress bar
    • row count label
    • playlist name in the playlist status bar
    • artwork
    • tagview data
    • tagview label
    • all 5 sections of the main menu bar menu item

Changed

  • General code clean-up.

Fixed

  • Tabs now expand to fill empty space.
  • Metadata in the Tagview is now properly centered.

Final Thoughts About 0.0.15 :
This may be a very minor update, but I also have some exciting news to announce a moment later in this post.
